#33: The Office’s Mother
In any office, people often assign unspoken roles to individuals based on their natural inclinations or behaviors. They label the person who cracks jokes as the office clown (even if it happens occasionally), designate the one who frequently brings lunch as the office caterer (even if it’s just for themselves), and bestow the role of the motherly figure upon the individual known for their caring nature.
However, assigning someone an office role during a job interview before they even secure the position is strange. In this case, they singled out a woman for the “motherly figure” role in the office, even though she didn’t fit the characterization. Ultimately, she decided the job wasn’t suitable, which is understandable given the bizarre interview encounter.
