#39: Mom, Is That You?
Late one night, a young boy lay in bed when he saw a shadow move across his room. Assuming it was his mom, he called out—but got no reply. Then, he heard footsteps stop at his brother’s room across the hall. Curious and a little spooked, he tiptoed over and peeked in. What he saw left him frozen: a woman standing beside his sleeping brother, unmoving, her face turned away.
He backed away and ran to his mom’s room, only to find her sound asleep. No one else was home. He never told anyone what he saw until years later, but the memory never left him. To this day, he refuses to go near that room in the dark. Whether it was a ghost, a dream, or something else entirely, he knows what he saw—and he’s never forgotten the fear that came with it.
