#36: The Problem with Cameras
A woman installed a front-door camera for peace of mind—until it did the opposite. One night, her app sent a motion alert at 2:47 a.m. Curious, she checked the footage and saw a shadow move quickly across the porch. It wasn’t a person, not an animal. It was faster than anything human and didn’t trigger the motion light. Her heart dropped. She rewound the video again and again, but the shape made no sense.
It didn’t show up in the next frame. It was like it had passed through another realm. She slept with the lights on for days after that. While cameras can catch intruders, they sometimes catch things we aren’t ready to see. She thought about removing it entirely. Sometimes, she figured, it’s better not to know what passes through the night. Ignorance might actually be bliss when it comes to the paranormal.
