#26: Twinkle Twinkle
After losing her best friend, a woman found herself grieving deeply. Before passing, her friend had joked, “I’ll haunt you—nicely,” if anything ever happened. Months later, while sitting alone in her living room, she noticed the twinkle lights strung across her wall flashing on and off in a rhythmic pattern. The timing was so precise, she couldn’t ignore it. It happened every time she mentioned her friend’s name.
Rather than being scared, she laughed. It was exactly the kind of harmless prank her friend would have pulled in life. The lights now bring her comfort instead of fear. To her, they are proof that friendship continues even after death. Every flicker feels like a gentle hello, a reminder that her friend is still close. Not all ghost stories are scary. Some just want to say, “Hey, I’m still around,” in their own twinkling way.
