#20: Not Today, Pennywise
While shopping at a local thrift store, a woman came across a vintage clown doll tucked onto a shelf. Clowns had always given her the creeps, but this one felt especially sinister. Just as she turned to walk away, she heard a faint voice say, “Come back.” She froze, heart racing, but no one else was around. The store was silent, and the clown’s eyes seemed to follow her.
She quickly left and never returned. Some might say it was a prank or a trick of the mind, but she’s convinced the doll spoke. Whether cursed or just cursed-looking, it reminded her why she had always feared clowns in the first place. Some fears are rooted in childhood, but others feel justified the moment something unexplainable happens. That day, she decided facing your fears is overrated. Sometimes, you’re better off walking the other way.
