Sometimes, individuals may resort to little white lies to achieve their goals. While we’re often taught that honesty is a virtue, there are situations where telling a lie may appear to be the only viable option.

Opting to fib to one’s employer about a family member’s death is a significant decision, but the employer’s response can exacerbate the situation. It’s recognized that employers sometimes prioritize profits over their employees, but it’s still shocking when a company asks an employee to come in for work after such a traumatic event. If the situation was genuine, the employer’s lack of empathy and compassion is deeply concerning.
