#29: New Punishment
In the past, punishing children was pretty straightforward – and even though it might not have been the best thing, it was pretty socially accepted. Today, we’ve got “time outs,” “consequence charts,” and a whole arsenal of behavioral psychology tricks up our sleeves. And let’s not forget about the guilt trips!
Is punishment really the best way to teach a child a lesson? Perhaps we could all resort to guilt trips and “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed” speeches. That’ll show them. Or maybe we should embrace our inner child and let them eat all the ice cream they want. Who needs discipline when you have sugar-induced comas, right?
