#16: Call or Text?
Did you know that a recent survey found that 95% of Americans use their mobile phones for text messaging, while only 75% make phone calls? And when it comes to the younger generation, 73% of Millennials and Gen Z prefer to communicate through text messages instead of having phone calls.
It’s not hard to see why. With texting, you can multitask, avoid awkward small talk, and even communicate in noisy environments. Plus, with the rise of emojis and GIFs, we can express our emotions creatively. It’s safe to say that texting has become the go-to communication method for many people because, let’s face it, it’s so much easier not to have to talk to people face-to-face.
