Programmers are incredibly focused on their work; can you really blame them for reacting to every sound? I’m sure this necessary but somewhat offensive sign was born out of frustration with too many interruptions to the sacred work of the programmers. However, is it genuinely necessary to depict them as caged animals in a zoo?

The most intriguing aspect of this sign, though, is the reference to an “incident.” What kind of incident occurred the last time someone knocked loudly on the door? Then again, perhaps we’re better off not knowing the answer. Like the sign cautioning against using the microwave at all costs, some questions are best left unanswered.
